The THUD Citation is provided to the DFFL owner who's 1st Round pick had the lowest overall ranking at the end of the season.
The award/citation gets its name from a previous owner's team handled (THUD) who haphazardly selected N'Keal Harry WR, Patriots, as the FIRST pick in the 2019 DFFL Rookie Draft. N'Keal Harry, who is currently an NFL and DFFL free agent, went on to totaling only 4 touchdowns through 4 seasons! A complete and utter disaster by any and all metrics!
2023 DFFL Thud Citation
It is with a kind of unpleasant awkwardness typically felt only when one loudly farts at a dinner party that DFFL presents the 2023 DFFL Thud Citation to none other than:
Kirk Gagnon of Dy'Nasty Fan'Tasy (DNF) for his 1.12 pick of Jonathon Mingo (WR, Panthers) in the 2023 DFFL Rookie Draft.
Mingo attempted to exist on a terrible Carolina team in 2023, and he did nothing to bring a spark to the Bryce Young offense. He ended the season on DNF's Taxi as the #94 WR and ranked #274 overall.
This is the 2nd year in a row where the 1.12 pick became the Thud Citation winner.
RUNNER UP
The 2023 DFFL Thud runner-up is..ahem..oh, this is awkward...Kirk Gagnon of Dy'Nasty Fan'Tasy (DNF) for his 1.04 pick of Quentin Johnson WR, Chargers. Johnson ended 2023 as the #84 WR and ranked #249 overall.
