Players to Watch (PTW):

Bijan Robinson (RB): Cody's NUT was one of the few DFFL franchises in 2023 where one couldn't scroll through his lineup without seeing multiple stars (TOP 5ers). Travis Etienne - traded to JWW in the offseason - "quietly" had himself a very good season with the Jaguars. He was a consistent Top 5 producer in fantasy and undoubtedly helped NUT maintain his award-winning dynasty season. Among NUT's runners, Bijan is one to watch. He's coming in on his sophomore season with a new coach and new QB behind center. If he can breakout the way most expect him to, NUT should explode once again in Malt and all over DFFL. Particularly, given Cody has "Sasquatch legs" Barkley in the hopper as well. However, if Tyler Allgere (sic) succeeds in preventing a Bijan breakout or some other Falcons disaster unfolds, then NUT will hope and pray Barkley can provide the Etienne-like production to keep Cody in DFFL champion contention.

Kyle Pitts (TE): I realize NUT's PTWs are all based out of the same offense in Georgia; however, that's how the NUT cookie crumbles when assessing successes from last season. NUT had the assistance of one of the NFL's historically great tight ends in 2023, Travic Kelce. While it pains me personnally to give any credit to a Kansas City Chief, accolades are due for a TE like Kelce. In fact, I think they should rename the position, "TravKelce" as he seems to be the only one consistently providing production to this once lauded NFL position. Kyle Pitts, selected by Mike(PTS) with the 4th Pick in the DFFL 2021 Rookie Draft, is no Travis Kelce. However, he came into the NFL/DFFL with all the potential of a great tight end. Will he finally achieve greatness under Kirk Cousins? Kirk likes him his tight ends! If this happens, then Cody and his NUT will probably drown out the rest of Malt Division, easily achieving another award-winning season. If not, well, Cody will lean on his stellar group of wide receivers and hope he finally gets some great play from his QBs. The QB position was terrible at making NUT great last season.

Practice Squad (Taxi)

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR-RS2)

Rome Odunze (WR - RS1)

Xavier Legette (WR - RS1)

Michael Mayer (TE - RS2)

Caleb Williams (QB - RS1)

The PiTS

(TK’s Player in the Spotlight) - Jaxon Smith-Njigba Seattle Seahawks WR will breakout in 2024! His speed and catch abilities will mature to the next level in his sophomore year, and JSN will take over duties as the WR1 by mid-season. NUT will have to sign JSN to a rookie contract, as the likes of RAF, DNF and JWW, among others will be clamoring to sign the star wideout. As a result of JSN's breakout season, NUT coasts into DFFL BOWL VII and wins the Championship for MALT DIVISION!!

CAP (2024) - $129 ($19DM)

Draft Capital (2025 +): 6 Picks (1x 1st)

OVERALL GRADE

A

With seven Elite Contracts, some solid talent on Taxi, and some CAP to spend, NUT is postured to not only relive the season they had in 2023 but perhaps finally give Malt Division their first DFFL Championship Trophy!

Cody has two QBs he'd rather not have on contract, but his starters are two of the NFL's most likely to succeed in 2024. Indeed, with each QB he has that thrower's #1 pass catcher. Not bad, not bad at all! As for the runners, both Barkley and Robinson should easily get the work they need to be Top 5ers this season.

While depth and bench are not optimal, NUT retains enough CAP and Draft Capital to shore up any potential areas of concern in both trades and the upcoming DFFL FFAA.

Even with the shocking trade of AJ Brown to DFFL's probable repeat champion in 2024, NUT retains elite status in the league. NUT should be the team to beat in Malt Division, and is more than capable of getting to the DFFL VII Bowl in December. Some DFFL teams speak volumes for themselves. Take a look at NUT's players and associated assessments in all the credible dynasty fantasy football halls of the Internet, and you will find ample reasons to like the 2024 NUT franchise. While the grade isn't equal to PTS' for purposes of Draft Capital and Bench depth, NUT has a Taxi group that could be playing at the top of their depth charts by season's end.
