'Twas the best of times, 'Twas the worst of times. This easily describes the UGG (12-2) historic DFFL 2022 season, and ultimate bitter defeat to the CowPatty Bowl Champion, JWW (9-5). Props to JWW, who all season long, and under enormous challenges, while competing in arguably the toughest DFFL division, beat back the odds to get to a second DFFL Bowl.

UGG misses his chance to be only the second team to repeat as champions, and JWW wants to prevent being a 1990's-like Buffalo Bills - getting to and losing the big game the most times in DFFL history.

UGG had a very, very un-UGG2022-like performance in the CowPatty Bowl. Coming in as the favorite to not only win the CP Bowl, but (in my humble opinion) repeat as champions, his squad put up numbers, the likes of which, he has not seen in 2022. This may have been UGG's worst performance in franchise history - Sleeper doesn't allow us to review past scores in past years for franchises. C'mon Sleeper...be better! Let's start with the bright spots, of which there are only 2. Burrow and Chase. It turns out UGG started the right QB for the CP Bowl, but it wasn't by much as Danny Dimes was also over 30 points. But Burrow got a solid 39 points, and that translated over to a solid game (but still not great) from Ja'Marr Chase. The rest of UGG's squad refused to get more than single digits. One of the biggest surprises was Josh Jacobs, who only got 8.4 - second worse of the season - in a year where he tended to get over 100yds and multiple TDs a game! Stefon Diggs and D. Adams did not manage to get over single digits when scores were combined!! #HeadExplosion Finally, UGG's Flexes - except Chase - scored less than 9 points added together. This might be understandable if the players names were Shenault and Bam Knight. But no, their names were Aaron Jones of Green Bay and ... oh, yeah...Bam Knight of Da Jets (c'mon, UGG, why would you start him with Zach "I love losing games" Wilson!??!). No need to speculate on who of UGG's bench should have been started in place of Bam, as it wouldn't have mattered. Last, and yes, least, Everett ended UGG's disastrous week on MNF doing his best "how few points you think I can get?" performance at TE. In essence, UGG moseyed up to the Century Mark, and BAM!!!, took a Diggs to his Jones and fell-face first in a Burrow.

JWW had multiple bright spots in his CowPatty Bowl victory. It's best to start with his QB. Dak Prescott had his best game of the 2022 season! He pulled in over 44 points for the Wonder Franchise! It wouldn't have mattered for his win if he had started Goff (38) or Cousins (38), but to get a whopping 44 points from your homer....well...that is just special! Austin Ekeler continued to show his value bringing in 2 TDs and over 24 fantasy points, essentially adding icing to Wonder's victory cake. JWW's rook sensation(?) Allgeier was third in overall scoring, getting almost 20 points against Baltimore's Defense. Very Solid! Zeke did okay, typically does better against Philly, but pulled in just over 15 points with 1 TD, even in a game where Dak took over. Finally, JWW got a whopping 19 points from his kicker. That is totally Gay, people, and not in a derogatory sense (not that there's anything wrong with that)! It's important to point out that this was Gay's best game of the year. Last, JWW got disappointing, yet predictable, production from his receiver sets - Evans and Pittman. I've talked a lot about these gomers, but suffice to say that combined they barely topped 13 points. I'd be worried about these cement blocks headed into DFFL Bowl V if I were the Wonder.

Congratulations to CowPatty Bowl Champ, JWW!! Get to work in the off-season, UGG. Solid Bowl game overall!

FINAL SCORE:

JWW - 167.98

UGG - 99.7
