Favorite, TMW (8-6) is at home to face underdog, RAF (7-7) in this battle of the Whatsapp ranters! This has been a season to remember for TMW. He earned multiple top awards; such as Tysons and Maguires, cashing in on the DFFL Bank like it was a stage coach and he was a bandit. Games 1-3 created early concern for the Watts, but 4-8 placed him in the Top 4 of DFFL teams. Unfortunately, in the waning weeks of the season TMW won only 2 of 6, placing him only 3rd in the phenomenal Barley Division. Amazingly, this was enough to slip into the playoffs as the DFFL #6 seed.
TMW will need his QB D. Watson to perform at home against a beatable secondary. Can Watson win at home with his law firm Peoples-Jones representing? It's hard to say. Watson is no fan favorite for many in his new home. It would be dishonest to say no one is hoping for an injury, requiring doctors instead of masseuses. Concern lies in his stable of RBs and WRs, but all have tremendous upside for production. Alvin Kamara has mostly been disappointing, yet one MUST start the dude! He's taking much of the Watts bank in '22, and he needs to start reflecting that on the field. Keenan Allen and Fournette (Fivenette) are both good candidates for a 1st quarter injury, as soft tissue muscles are not their specialty. Tyreek Hill, Cee Dee Lamb and Donovan Peoples-Jones have amazingly great matchups, and just might be the difference for TMW. DARK HORSES: I've picked Donovan Peoples-Jones and Mark Andrews as the players to watch in TMW's path to the second round. They are risky, yet fun to watch and more than capable in taking the Watts to victory in Week 15.
Two-time DFFL Champion and three-time Hops Division Champ, RAF, is in need of an early Christmas Miracle! The miracle consists of Rhamondre Stevenson getting well enough to offer his 24 promised points (and then some) to the RAF bottom line. Patrick Mahomes will need to fire on all cylinders, getting some Week 1 and Week 10 production going. Preferrably, Mahomes will lean on Jerick McKinnon to give him short passes with multiple yards after catch. This is possible, but not likely with a game script potentially leading to a lean on the run (i.e., Pacheco). The Fitz needs Joe Mixon to do Mixon Week 9 tricks; however, this will be a challenge as the Tampa Bay defense is no push over for the run. Finally, RAF will look to Darius Slayton (big play capability), and the Denver Broncos (one of the best Defenses) to provide some Holiday magic and get RAF to the second round. DARK HORSES: I've picked Rashid Shaheed and Latavius Murray as the players to watch in RAF's march to DFFL First Round victory. Shaheed has quietly become a solid production play with his ability to catch, run and return kicks. While he has not caught or rushed for a TD since early in the season, this game vs. Atlanta could treat Shaheed well in that category. Finally, Latavius Murray, with the injury to Boone, should see plenty of snaps, but will he fall into the end zone? Watch how these two players respond in Week 15; they will help tell the RAF's post-season story.
FAVORITE: TMW (-10)
UNDERDOG: RAF (+10)
