Congrats to Top Scorer...RAF
WINNER’S CIRCLE -
So nice to be among a winning group, with winning ways, winning teams, winning players! You make DFFL a shining example for all those who yearn to understand the makeup of a platinum dynasty fantasy league in these trying fantasy production times! Congratulations to:
(RAF⭐⭐⭐), (CAB⭐), (KED⭐⭐⭐), (DNF⭐⭐⭐🦶🛡️), (NUT🛡️), and (MTT⭐) in order of points scored.
DANTE’S CIRCLE -
Time to spend a week in the Fantasy Nine Circles of Hell. Get a chance to second guess all your transactions, your crappy starting lineups, your faulty strategy. Scream in agony so that perhaps the Fantasy Gods will show some modicum of mercy for a comeback. This can’t be how it ends, for me! Tell me I have a chance!?! Better make the right moves and pray for some redemption…next week! #loo-oo-oo-sers:
(UGG⭐⭐⭐🦶🛡️🛡️), (JWW⭐⭐), (TIU⭐⭐🦶🛡️), (DMM⭐🦶) (TMW⭐⭐🦶), and (PTS) in order of losing points scored in sad, sad losses.
Top 5 Changes from Week 8:
DMM gains a QB, TMW lost a QB. RAF and UGG gain an RB, UGG and KED lost an RB. DNF gains a WR, MTT lost a WR. RAF gains a TE, JWW lost a TE. DMM gains a K, KED lost a K. DNF and NUT gain a D/ST, KED and TMW lost a D/ST.
**NOTES: RAF (2), DNF (2) and DMM (2) gained the most Top5ers in Week 9; TMW (2) and KED (3) lost the most Top5ers in Week 9**

AWARDS -
Tyson Award. Nite, Nite! Thleep Tight!
- NUT (1) gains a TYSON this week after pile driving PTS into a dog park kiddie pool 144.88 to 91.50. He thcored 53.38 pointh better than PTeth. Thith ith PTeth third beat-down in a row. But whoth counting?
2022: RAF (1), UGG (1), DNF (1), TIU (2), TMW (1), KED (1), DMM (1), NUT (1)
Historical: JWW 139.88
Cliffhanger Award. By the skin of your teeth and newly discovered hairloss!
- RAF (2) beat UGG by 20.92 points earning him the CLIFFHANGER for Week 9. Though, I must say, there was very little doubt going into MNF that RAF would come up on top. Next closest was a 23 point victory by MTT over TMW (punchbowl turds). Still, in a week of “not even close” wins, RAF gladly puts this award on his mantle.
2022: NUT (1), DMM (1), JWW (1), UGG (3), TMW (1), RAF (2)
Historical: “The Tie”’19 (CAB vs RAF); “Halloween Howler.84”’22 (TMW vs NUT)
Maguire Award. Show me the Money!
- RAF (1) wins a MAGUIRE this week with a score of 182.16. Show RAF the money!! He pulls in a $50 burger, I think for the first time in a couple years!! Given last week’s high score (205.94) DFFL took a dip lower in scoring (169 points lower than Week 8).
DFFL scored over 1704 points this week (Week 8: 1873).
2022: PTS (1), TIU (1), UGG (3), TMW (3), RAF (1)
Historical: DNF 246.5
Meme Award. When your best isn’t good enough, but makes for great jokes!
- PTS (3) earned a MEME this week with a score of just 91.5 points. In 9 weeks of play this is PTS 3rd under 100 point showing, and 2nd-in-a-row! Maybe Amon Ra St. Brown can go off like he did in Week 2, and get PTS 35+points in Week 10? Perhaps, but I’d bet against it, the way the Lions play in November. Okay, let’s share this MEME! It would be so funny if it weren’t a little embarrassing…Sorry PTS!
2022: TMW (1), JWW (1), MTT (1), NUT (1), DMM (1), CAB (1), PTS (3)
Historical: OIE (MTT) 66.04.
Shamrock Award. I found me 4-leaf clover, and though small, I be a winner!
- MTT (2) scored only 126.66 points against TMW, but came up a winner! His lowest score for a Winner’s Circle bloke, earned him a SHAMROCK! This wouldn’t have happened but for his faith in D. Carr (26.8) and respectable play from his TE (26) and trusty AJ Brown (15.9). Nice Job!!
2022: UGG (1), RAF (1), DMM (1), NUT (2), TMW (1), KED (1), MTT (2)
Historical: CAB 102.7
“Red Shirt” Award. Starfleet security officer taking one for CAPT Kirk.
- UGG (1) beamed down with the varsity team to Planet RAF this week. Surely, his scouting team would quickly overwhelm any resistance, and all would go back to ENTERPRISE victorious?!? He looked around and noticed, “Hey, I’m the only one in a RED SHIRT!, NOT COOL!” He also noticed that James Kirk, with a terrified look on his face, was making a call to Scotty! Could it be!!?? Nooooooo!! UGG gets the RED SHIRT for being the Top loo-oo-ser Scorer in Dante’s Circle of Fantasy Hell. He scored a respectable 165.24 points which would have beaten all but one team (CAB). Of note, he scored 0.02 better than KED…Whaaa??!! Craziness!
2022: CAB (1), PTS (1), DMM (1), TIU (1), RAF (2), DNF (1), NUT (1), UGG (1)
Historical: NUT 205.10 (Halloween Howler, Oct22)
Mojo Award. “Yeah, Baby!” Best pickup or start/sit decisions.
- CAB (1) earns his first MOJO this week with his last minute decision to trade-then-sit the Top 10 Fantasy QB, Geno Smith, in favor of the recently acquired (from KED), Justin Fields! Fields, who scored better this week than his first 4 games combined, catapulted CAB to victory with his historic 61.72 point game against the Dolphins (Mixon had 63.10 this week). Of note, Da Bears still lost…but RESPECT what Fields has been doing the last 3 weeks. CAB has major mojo for recognizing this, and putting himself in position to make a run for HOPS Division Champ. It’s still very much a possibility! Honorable mention goes to other Winner Circle champs this week; namely, NUT (Kmet and Tagovailoa), and MTT (Goedert).
2022: NUT (1), JWW (3), UGG (3), DNF (1), CAB (1)
Historical: EJT (KAK) 58.25 “FitzMagic”
Noonan Award. “Best Ball Award”...na-na-na-na-naaaa!.
- JWW & TIU (2) both get NOONANs this week for start-sit decisions that left significant points on the board. Typically, this goes to a losing team that would have won had they made different decisions with their starting lineup. However, Week 9 is an anomaly to that concept. Neither JWW or TIU would have won in their matches against KED and CAB, respectively. BUT…they made interesting starting lineup choices that I will now make note of. First, JWW started an Indianapolis WR (Pittman) at a time of great confusion and overall suckiness(sic) for that franchise. JWW did this and sat WR1, Curtis Samuel, a Top 20 WR in fantasy, who has been getting more playtime and targets with Jahan Dotson out of commission. Lastly, TIU earns a NOONAN for sitting Jets RB1, Michael Carter. Carter is the only game in town for the Jets backfield until others get up to speed. Now, I know they were playing his Homer Bills, but target share alone is worth a start, right? Maybe. The crux of the issue is with who started in Flex for Carter…that was Jakobi Meyers. Meyers, who is a NE WR, thus not startable, got less than 8 points of a stupidly projected 15.7. Not Good! “Can I get a Mulligan here, Please!?,” shouted JWW and TIU as the crowd gasped from the fairway. “No! You Can’t!” But you will get NOONANs…na-na-na-na-naaaa!
2022: TMW (1), MTT (1), PTS (1), UGG (1), DMM (2), NUT (2), JWW & TIU (2),
Deck Chairs Award. First Class or Steerage? All equally suck on Titanic!
Maiden award for those of us who feel the need to make transactions, only to realize it helps/helped us not. This will likely only go to losers with losing records each week, but even winners can achieve this award if the move is #SMH enough.
- JWW & TIU (1). As with the NOONAN, these two DFFL Owners achieved a second tie for a Week 9 Award. You achieve DECK CHAIRS this week lads!
Picture it! It was Week 9 off the coast of Fantasy Relevancy, along sailed a pair of DFFL juggernauts. Easy Day! Easy Weather! They sailed as a pair, feeling particularly safe from the likes of fast attack subs that had been detected in these regions of late. In a show of spectacular hubris of the dangers that lie ahead, earlier in the day each had nabbed “big time” deck chairs (Tee Higgins to TIU from NUT; Dalvin Cook to JWW from CAB). Nothing to fear! The sky's the limit! Unfortunately, they should have been focused on the water instead of the sky. Out of nowhere two scallywag submarines (CAB and KED) gained sight of the two hapless cruisers (TIU and JWW). A single salvo was launched!! TIU and JWW had no place to hide, nowhere to go….except down, recently acquired deck chairs and all…Glub…Glub…Glub…
2022: PTS (1), CAB (3), RAF (3), JWW & TIU (1).
Not a great week, points wise. However, it is still historic. Mixon (63) and Fields (61) picked up most of DFFL’s points this week #LMAO.
