Congrats to Top Scorer...UGG
WINNER’S CIRCLE -
So nice to be among a winning group, with winning ways, winning teams, winning players! You make DFFL a shining example for all those who yearn to understand the makeup of a platinum dynasty fantasy league in these trying fantasy production times! Congratulations to:
(UGG⭐⭐⭐⭐🦶🛡️🛡️), (PTS🦶), (DNF⭐⭐⭐🦶🦶), (KED⭐⭐), (TMW⭐⭐🛡️), and (MTT⭐) in order of points scored.
DANTE’S LAYER -
Time to spend a week in the Fantasy Nine Circles of Hell. Get a chance to second guess all your transactions, your crappy starting lineups, your faulty strategy. Scream in agony so that perhaps the Fantasy Gods will show some modicum of mercy for a comeback. This can’t be how it ends, for me! Tell me I have a chance!?! Better make the right moves and pray for some redemption…next week! #loo-oo-oo-sers:
(TIU⭐⭐🦶🛡️), (JWW⭐), (RAF⭐⭐), (CAB⭐), (DMM⭐), and (NUT⭐🛡️) in order of losing points scored.
(KEY: 🛡️-Top 5 Defense/ST, 🦶-Top 5 Kicker, ⭐-Top 5 Player Q/R/W/T)
TOP 5 Notes: UGG increasingly owns the market on Top 5 players. If UGG and DNF could play more than one K or D/ST, they could better utilize their multiple Top 5 in those positions.
AWARDS -
Tyson Award. Nite, Nite! Thleep Tight!
- UGG (3) clobbers DMM by almost 90 points with a score of 195.7 to 105.82, earning a 3rd TYSON this season. Josh Jacobs (53+)...Josh Jacobs (53+)...Did anyone at the start of this season think Josh Jacobs would be this killer in fantasy??!! Certainly not me! Oh, and UGG gets back Ja’Marr Chase this coming week. UGG could essentially blindfold himself, pick starters from his group, and still be favored to win week-to-week. Amazing!
2022: RAF (1), TIU (2), TMW (1), KED (1), DMM (1), NUT (1), DNF (2), UGG (3)
Historical: JWW 139.88
Cliffhanger Award. By the skin of your teeth and newly discovered hair loss!
- DNF (1) holds on to achieve his first CLIFFHANGER of the year in a close win versus TIU. The score, 182.78 to 167.42, was the highest combined score of the week, with only 15.36 points separating teams at the end of MNF. Lawrence, JJ, Sanders, and JT are the usual suspects when looking at how DNF cooked up success. If he’d had a modicum of King Henry’s projected points, he might’ve won a Maguire this week.
2022: NUT (1), DMM (1), JWW (1), UGG (3), TMW (1), RAF (2), KED (1), TIU (1), DNF (1)
Historical: “The Tie”’19 (CAB vs RAF); “Halloween Howler.84”’22 (TMW vs NUT)
Maguire Award. Show me the Money!
- UGG (5) wins his 5th MAGUIRE in Week 12 - the second in as many weeks - with a score of 195.70! UGG is well on his way to taking most of DFFL’s bank in 2022; particularly if he plays in the championship game, which appears more likely with each passing week. Add another $50 to your war chest. Of course, Josh Jacobs’ 53+points propelled UGG to a money week. Without those points, UGG woulda won but without little fanfare or 50 big ones.
DFFL scored 1790.8 points in Week 12. This accounts for an uptick in point productions from last week and a break in the downward trend. (Week 11: 1625.42).
2022: PTS (1), TIU (1), TMW (3), RAF (1), DNF (1), UGG (5)
Historical: DNF 246.5
Meme Award. When your best isn’t good enough, but makes for great jokes!
- NUT (2) gets his first MEME of the season with a score of 93.46. Not the worst of the season for sure, but nothing to write home about. NUT’s biggest disappointment was Elijah Mitchell who got goose egged in a starting FLEX spot. Aside from Chase Claypool’s unappealing 13 points on the bench, not much could have been done to prevent this sad outcome.
2022: TMW (1), JWW (1), MTT (1), DMM (1), CAB (1), PTS (3), RAF (1), KED (1), NUT (2)
Historical: OIE (MTT) 66.04.
Shamrock Award. I found me 4-leaf clover, and though small, I be a winner!
- MTT (3) earns his 3rd SHAMROCK of the DFFL Season with the lowest score for a winner in Week12. Scoring 141.10 points, MTT is sneakily in the running for the Hops Division lead - and therefore PLAYOFFFFFS! This battle may come down to a Week 14 head-to-head with RAF, or some other combination of W/L to enter the playoffs as the 3 Seed.
2022: UGG (1), RAF (1), DMM (1), NUT (2), TMW (1), KED (2), TIU (1), MTT (3)
Historical: CAB 102.7
“Red Shirt” Award. Starfleet security officer taking one for CAPT Kirk.
- TIU (2) gets a RED SHIRT for highest score in a losing battle versus DNF. His whopping 167.42 points was commendable; however, when you're among a team of Spocks, Bones and Kirks (literally and figuratively) someone has to die…and it’s not gonna be one of them. Don that Red Shirt and take one for the team, TIU! Your picture will be hung in the Hall of Courageous Fantasy Warriors, but your remains will be forever lost on Planet DNF in the Week 12 abyss.
2022: CAB (1), PTS (1), DMM (1), RAF (2), UGG (1), NUT (2), DNF (2), TIU (2)
Historical: NUT 205.10 (Halloween Howler, Oct22)
Mojo Award. “Yeah, Baby!” Best pickup or start/sit decisions.
- DNF (2) gets a MOJO this week for finally solving his starting QB conundrum. After weeks of selecting the worst of three choices, he finally landed on the QB that helped cement his win against TIU in a must-have Win for playoff contention. Starting Trevor Lawrence over Marcus Mariota and Aaron Rodgers gave DNF 37.44 points - TLaw’s 2nd best game of the season. Had DNF started the other gomers, he would have lost to TIU. Solid choice!
2022: NUT (1), JWW (3), UGG (3), CAB (1), DMM (2), DNF (2)
Historical: EJT (KAK) 58.25 “FitzMagic”
Noonan Award. “Best Ball Award”...na-na-na-na-naaaa!.
- JWW (3) gets a NOONAN this week as a result of points missed that could have served up a win in Week 12! I have two players for ya…..Michael Pittman (18.60) and Kirk Cousins (33.86). Had these players started in JWW’s lineup, perhaps for…oh..I dunno…Homer Prescott (24.34) and Mike Whinersville Evans (5.10!!), JWW would have beat TMW by 2.34 points! Dak passed the second most attempts of the season, 30 times, and came up with the 3rd worst fantasy point output. Meanwhile, Cousins put up his best numbers of the fantasy season. Mike Evans, while getting 9 targets, connected on only 2 of them for an anemic 31 yards…not cool! Pittman has only ever received less than 5 points once this season, versus NE Defense. His floor is typically double digits. Pittman is the #14, Evans…#20 and falling.
2022: TMW (1), PTS (1), UGG (1), DMM (2), NUT (2), TIU (2), MTT (2), RAF (1), JWW (3)
Deck Chairs Award. First Class or Steerage? All equally suck on Titanic!
- RAF (5) keeps making moves….keeps passing around DECK CHAIRS…keeps sinking to the Fantasy Irrelevancy depths. Week 12 was no different than 4 previous times RAF felt that all he had to do was make a move or two, in an effort to salvage the season and mostly his pride. Making a move to bring in Latavius Murray - the #1 RB in Denver - would surely put RAF on course to beating the worst record in DFFL?!? Uh…no. In fact, the only player that could have prevented a titanic disaster was one that was never going to end up with RAF…Josh Jacobs and his 53+points! Shifting deck chairs does little to stave off the inevitable…RAF could be heard shouting, as he sank into the cold unforgiving sea, “I still have a chance!!! Don’t I??”……Glub…Glub…Glub…
**As a result of trade deadline, this award is officially retired for the 2022 Season.**
2022: PTS (1), CAB (3), JWW & TIU (1), KED (1), RAF (5)
Scoring came up a bit from last week (around 150 points or so). UGG, PTS and DNF helped in that regard...getting pretty close to 200 points each.
