!!CONGRATULATIONS UGG ON GETTING HIGH SCORE FOR WEEK TEN!!

MANTLE OF MAGNIFICENCE

NUT (9-1) returns to the MoM this week; he just can't get enough it appears, and the MoM loves NUT! PTS has the longest win streak at 4 games with UGG just behind him, having won 3 in a row. TIU breaks his 4 game losing streak and along with long-time loser, DNF, arrive in the Mantle after solid wins in Week 10. DNF gets to the MoM after breaking a 5 game losing skid. Congratulations!

(UGG(5-5)⭐🤺), (NUT(9-1)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🏈🤺), PTS (8-2)⭐), (CAB(7-3)⭐), (DNF(3-7)⭐⭐🤺), and (TIU(5-5) ⭐⭐⭐) in order of points scored.

CELLAR OF SHAME

The short-lived champagne buzz of JWW (1-9) only win of the season is now a headache as he returns to the CoS. Indeed JWW's "CoS" has been to see how low he can go without falling through the cellar into China. RAF owns the longest losing streak at 3 straight games, and continues to have tough sledding as the season progresses. KED and MTT lose their second straight game in a row. DMM and TMW lose tough games this week, but it's particularly hurtful for DMM as TMW decided not to set his lineup with a full contingent of starters; attempting to will Nico Collins into the game, though the coaches kept him out for injury. Shameful!

(TMW (6-4)⭐⭐⭐🤺), (KED(5-5) ⭐⭐), (RAF(3-7)🏈🏈), (DMM (4-6) ⭐🏈🏈🤺), (JWW (1-9)), and (MTT(4-6)) in order of losing points scored.

DFFL WEEKLY PRODUCTION NOTES

TOP 5 Notes:

Ø NUT gained the most this week and owns the market on Top 5ers!!

Ø JWW and MTT got NADA for Top 5ers (JWW trades them away).

Ø TIU's Bills are no longer a Top 5 Defense, as they LOSE TO BRONCOS ON MNF!

Ø The Winners Bracket is soaking up all the Top 5ers; Losers are starting to fade away...

DFFL Production:

DFFL scored 1692.8 in Week 10. This is the 3rd highest scoring week in 2023.

Wk1-1493.7; Wk2-1558.98, Wk3-1526.44, Wk4-1676.94, Wk5-1719.48, Wk6-1639.76, Wk7-1566.43, Wk8-1843.04, Wk9-1507.4, Wk10-1692.8.

Meeting Expectations:

  • RAF is only team in Wk10 to exceed production expecations! NOTE: This is the first time a DFFL team beat projections and still lost in 2023.

  • RAF's Trey McBride (24), MTT's Antonio Gibson (28), DMM's Indy Colts (19), TMW's Keenan Allen (42) and Mike Evans (28), JWW's Noah Brown (28), DNF's TJ Hockenson (31), Brian Robinson (29), and Jason Myers (21), NUT's Cee Dee Lamb (39), and TIU's Devin Singletary all blew past projections by double-digits!

  • RAF's 32% in Week 7 is a DFFL best for 2023 thus far.

Failing Expectations:

  • TIU had the worst week for meeting projections, falling under by 36%; 3rd Worst for their season so far.

  • PTS' Jahon Dotson (0), and TMW's Nico Collings (0) - INJURED and OUT before gametime were the only GOOSE EGGS of Wk10. Multiple 1-Pointers in the league, just talk to PTS, MTT and NUT.

  • MTT's 65% in Week 1 is a DFFL worst for 2023 thus far.

Benched Diamonds - Wasted Production in WEEK 9:

Highest Bencher QB – UGG's Dak Prescott (52.9)

Highest Bencher RB - RAF's D'Ontae Foreman (22.2)

Highest Bencher WR – MTT's Tank Dell (20.7) (2nd Week in a Row)

Highest Bencher TE – UGG's Tyler Conklin (12.5)

Highest Bencher K – CAB's Will Lutz (15)

DFFL WEEK 10 AWARDS

Tyson Award. Nite, Nite! Thleep Tight!

- UGG (1) earns a double whammy this week with both his first Tyson and a first $30 Maguire! What a comeback for The Life this season so far! UGG beat the upstart - but trending down - KED in Week 10 by a 'notso' vast 30.36 points. This is the smallest score delta in the ongoing DFFL regular season that ended up earning the winner a Tyson. An honorable mention goes to NUT who beat RAF by 30.26 points - a .1 difference from the Tyson winner. If it were possible, I would give both UGG and NUT a co-Tyson this week. But it's not. Furthermore, UGG deserves some accoalades and awards for staying the course on his hopes of getting a playoff berth, making the necessary trades, and talking the necessary shit to stay a competive team. UGG's team is starting to show a dangerous trend upwards, and teams should be wary when they encounter his booming players....DNF.

2023: PTS (2), MTT (1), TMW (2), RAF (2), NUT (1), DMM (1), UGG (1)

Historical: JWW 139.88

Maguire Award. Show me the Money!

- UGG (1) gets his first Maguire and $30 this week with a score of 174.88 points! While not the highest score in DFFL so far this season, it is definitely respectable. UGG who is looking like the Comeback Kid if he can get into the playoffs had multiple players (unfortunately too many on his bench, as well) get into double digits. Burrow, Ekeler, Lockett, Chase and Montgomery (his first game back from injury) got into the 20s, or very close. UGG left a ton of points - almost 121 to be clear! on his bench! But, hey, you can only start one QB. The Brandon Cooks 'sit' decision is a tough one to swallow. Congrats 'CK'UGG!

2023: TMW (2), PTS (1), TIU (2), RAF (1), NUT (2), CAB (1), UGG (1)

Historical: DNF 246.5

Cliffhanger Award. By the skin of your teeth and newly discovered hair loss!

- TIU (1) wins his first Cliffy of the year with a 6.62 point win over MTT! The honorable mention goes to CAB with a 7 point victory over DMM. TIU finally got into the win column after a 4 game losing skid and despite a terrible game from many of his Bills players on MNF. The Toe got a very good game from Devin Singletary (~30) and an 'ok game' from Dalton Kinkaid (~14) to eke out this week's game.

2023: UGG (1), DNF (1), NUT (3), KED (1), DMM (1), JWW (1), TIU (1)

Historical: “The Tie”’19 (CAB vs RAF); “Halloween Howler.84”’22 (TMW vs NUT)

Meme Award. When your best isn’t good enough, but makes for great jokes!

- MTT (2) nabs his second seasonal Meme for a 107.46 point showing in Week 10. It didn't have to be this way, however. MTT make a couple 'sit/start' errors that led to a lackluster week in scoring. His mancrush on hyped rookie Will Levis (11 of 31) crushed his team's chances to win (Russ Willson had ~31 on the bench #SMH). MTT contracted Tank Dell (WR) for Houston - who in two weeks has a total of 56.4 points - then sits him a 2nd straight week. Antonio Gibson was a 'Mojo-like' start for MTT, but it just wasn't enough to pull The Thielen that far over the Century Mark. Thielen and Addison, who have been balling, didn't show up this week for MTT - so sad.

2023: DNF (1), UGG (3), RAF (4), MTT (2)

Historical: MTT 55.82 (Wk1/2023), OIE (MTT) 66.04.

Shamrock Award. I found me 4-leaf clover, and though small, I be a winner!

- TIU (1) earns his first Shammy of the season with only a 118.22 point showing. As highlighted in The Toe's Cliffy ealier in this writeup, his Bills players just couldn't get their expected production versus an increasingly stingy Broncos Defense. Still a win is a win for The Toe! This one was especially great, given the 4-game skid he broke to stay competitive for a Playoff push. TIU would have lost to every team this week, EXCEPT the team he played - MTT (107.46). The Toe would have EVEN LOST to the defunct yet "Pick-Loaded" Wonder team. Egads!

2023: UGG (1), CAB (2), KED (2), MTT (1), PTS (3), TIU (1)

Historical: CAB 102.7

TY-SHAM: PTSvsRAF(wk2 138.02).

Red Shirt Award. Starfleet security officer taking one for CAPT Kirk.

- TMW (2) is a Shamrock winner again this season with a very respectable 153.14 point showing this week. TMW coulda picked up another 8 points in his loss to the 7-2 Six this week had he paid a little attention to his starting lineup instead of the white powder on some bimbo's bosom. NICO COLLINS was called OUT, and yet The Watts felt cocky enough to keep him in his lineup anyway...shameful! I mean, to The Watts'defense he didn't have anyone really to start from his bench. Not even his explosive benched San Fran Defense (23) could have beat the 13.4 point difference in the score with The Six. TMW loses this game even though they had Keenan Allen (42) and Brock Purdy (34) in his starting lineup. These guys had solid games. Keenan got his second 40-Burger of the season. Very efficient, but no cigar.

2023: KED (2), DMM (2), PTS (1), JWW (1), TIU (2), TMW (2)

Historical: NUT 205.10 (Halloween Howler, Oct22)

Mojo Award. “Yeah, Baby!” Best pickup or start/sit decisions.

- DNF (1) ... yes...you see this correclty...gets a Mojo this week. DNF, who has started Tyler Bass (K) every week, decided to live dangerously and start Seattle's Jason Myers (K) instead. Myers would go on to have a season and Week 10 best 21 points versus Washington. Those of us who know how risk averse DNF is when it comes to changing up his starting lineup know just how tough this must have been. Indeed, one can only hope that this "lucky" but lucrative start/sit decision could open the door for more edgy and "risky" start/sit decisions moving forward. We shouldn't hold our collective breath; which is why this award is very deserving to DNF who picked a winning starter and broke his franchise and league high 5 game losing streak! Had he started the gomer he always starts, JWW would have won his second game of the season. Congrats to DNF. Honorables go to the NUT for the CeeDee Lamb goldrush start (39) - expected, and TIU's Deven Singletary (29.6) start.

2023: JWW (2), DMM (1), RAF (1), MTT (2), TMW (2), JWW (1), DNF (1)

Noonan Award. "Best Ball Award"..nana nana naaa!

- DMM (2) gets a Noonan this week for his start/sit decision with Tyler Bagent (T-Bag) (13.68) over Zach Wilson (21.42). The Millionnaire lined up at the T-Bag, took his hardest golf swing, and sliced the ball into Schitt’s Creek. Had he started Zack Wilson, who has had a number of respectable games this season, DMM would have beat The Ala Barts in Week 10 by…get this… POINT 02 points!! (.02). Now, before you ask, “Why pick on DMM this week, and not MTT?”. Okay, First, I’ve picked on MTT a lot this write-up! Second, the score difference (.02) had DMM started Wilson over T-Bag was just too crazy of a close one when added to the James - “I fumbled the ball into my open arms” – Cook fiasco on MNF that might have been the talk of the league for weeks to come.

2023: MTT (1), JWW (2), TMW (1), TIU (3), KED (1), DMM (2)

Deck Chairs Award. First Class or Steerage? All equally suck on Titanic!

- MTT (1) gets his first Deck Chair Award this week for his waiver pickup of Kylen “I can’t catch” Granson (1) in Week 10. Hahaha…just when you thought I couldn’t pick on MTT anymore in this blog! It’s just too easy when the Meme Awardee makes moves before a looming disaster in attempt to stave off the inevitable. Keep in mind, Granson had just delivered a Goose Egg in Week 9. However, this did not do any damage to a DFFL team, as he was, rightly so, a Waiver Wire J.A.G. So, here comes The Thielen… “Hmm..I wonder if this old Indianapolis relic of a rocking chair would look good on the Bridge of my Hops Yacht?”… MTT didn’t understand that this particular ‘rocking chair’ hasn’t rocked anything good since Week 6. Even THAT production (10 points) was anomalous to his standard broke-ass performances. Into the sea of Fantasy Irrelevance goes the Granson ‘Chair’ and The Thielen Yacht….glub…glub..glub.

2023: DMM (1), UGG (1), DNF (2), CAB (1), TMW (1), JWW (2), RAF (3), MTT (1)

For those of you who care/follow, my Western Road-Trip is over today… SadFace! I write this from my Cody, Wy, hotel, just a few short miles from the RAF home base. In DFFL we just had a pretty solid week for production. NUT and PTS are rolling! A handful of mid-grades are still in it with UGG looking like the new Dark Horse. BUT…TMW and CAB are no teams to sleep on. Into Week 11 we go….
